Unless you’ve been living under a blarney stone, you should know that the Inn on Fifth is the place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Naples, as happy revelers turn Fifth Avenue South into a sea of green. The stretch of sidewalk in front of the Inn and Avenue5 and neighboring Sugden Plaza has long been considered the best for watching the annual Naples St. Patrick’s Day Parade and celebrating the day with family and friends.
The tradition continues this year, starting Saturday, March 12 at 11 a.m., when the parade will high-step its way through downtown for the 40th year in a row. (Produced by the Naples St. Patrick Foundation, it’s the largest privately funded parade in Florida. Sponsorships and donations support high school music programs throughout Southwest Florida, as well as a scholarship program for college-bound students from the Greater Naples area – so it’s a great time for a great cause.)
After the parade, you’ll want to wander into Avenue5, where Executive Chef David Nelson will be channeling the ghost of the legendary McCabe’s Irish Pub and Grill and serving up some of owner Phil McCabe’s favorite traditional Irish cuisine. And our bartenders will be working overtime, slinging the best in Irish whiskeys and other libations at the island bar and lounge. The special St. Patrick’s Day menu will be available March 12 through 17 (libations available always).
So throw on some green, work on your Irish accent and come join the fun! For more info, reservations or to view the St. Patrick’s menu, visit Avenue5Naples.com. You can also call 239-403-7170. Sláinte!
