    This classic musical is the Cinderella story of Eliza Doolittle, a cockney flower girl who grows into a refined lady with the help of the haughty speech therapist, Henry Higgins. As Eliza blooms, so does their romance, but coming from two different worlds proves to be challenging. My Fair Lady boasts a memorable score with songs like “I Could Have Danced All Night,” “I’ve Grown Accustomed to Her Face,” and “On the Street Where You Live.”

    Set in the 1920’s, Catherine and her friends develop serious medical conditions due to the glowing paint they use to make clocks dials. When the company they work for refuses to acknowledge the issue the women choose to stand up and fight for justice. These Shining Lives chronicles the strength and determination of women considered expendable in their day, exploring their true story and its continued resonance.

    The Naples Art Association (NAA) proudly connects artists with art shoppers in another terrific season of Art in the Park.
    Since 1957 Art in the Park has remained the monthly members show showcasing the talents of our member artists. Believed to be the first outdoor art show held in Naples, Art in the Park carries on the tradition of providing our community access to the very creative fine art and craftwork of our member artists.
    The Naples Art Association is proud to host this juried art show held on the first Saturday of each month from November through April, 10am-4pm. Art in the Park is held in conjunction with “First Saturday” an event directed toward children and families. Children of all ages will have the opportunity to experience working in many mediums, expanding their creativity.
    Artists Requirements
    Art in the Park is a membership opportunity, providing artists a venue to sell and market their work while broadening their customer base. It also provides a setting for artists to interact with other artists sharing ideas, industry changes and the camaraderie of creative people. It is an opportunity for both artists and the public to engage in enlightening conversations about art. To participate, a new artist must first go through the jury process and be a member of the Naples Art Association.

    The NAPLES BIG BAND brings big band music to the Naples area. They are an 19-piece big band, playing concerts and dances from October through April. The Band has over one thousand arrangements made famous by people like the Dorsey Brothers, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Les Elgart, Glenn Miller, and current artists.
    The NAPLES BIG BAND provides student scholarships and financial support to Collier County high schools’ band programs.
    A registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, they are completely dependent on sponsors and the generosity of their audiences to provide this support. All donations and any contributions are appreciated in order to support music for all ages.

    Television actor, Andrew Rally has moved to New York and has been offered to play Hamlet. The only problem? He hates Hamlet. While dealing with a girlfriend who is keeping a firm grip on her chastity, a canceled TV show and struggling with Shakespeare he is visited by the ghost of John Barrymore. The laughs are nonstop as Barrymore introduces our ambivalent young friend to the joys of fame, dames and melancholy Danes.

    Deena Gu Laties is a renowned international artist who melds aspects of western art with her Chinese training. Born in Shanghai, Deena Gu studied under famous Chinese painters Cheng Shifa and Tse Chen-Na. She continued her art studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts when she moved to the U.S. in the 1980s, fusing Chinese tradition with a western approach in terms of space, color and relationship.

    From Shanghai to Naples will feature some of Deena Gu’s favorite early works, including The 87 Mortals: a thirty-foot handscroll that is a copy of a scroll from the Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.). The exhibition will also display many of Deena Gu’s contemporary works, in which recognizable elements of land, sea, and sky appear to merge into diaphanous, atmospheric tableaus. Inspired by music and poetry, these introspective and contemplative compositions integrate the fluidity of Chinese painting with contemporary influences.

    Her recent performance at Cambridge brought rave reviews from the audience and critics. Her performance on April 26 will feature Beethoven’s beloved “Moonlight Sonata” and Ravel’s rhapsodic “Gaspard de la Nuit”.
